Triethylene Glycol (TEG) Dehydration Unit
TEG Dehydration is a physical absorption process used in natural gas processing and purification to reduce the moisture content in natural gas.
Application
In the TEG absorption tower, the strong hygroscopic property of TEG enables it to absorb saturated water from natural gas as the two phases come into counter-current contact.
In a typical surface processing train the sequence is: Wellhead → Separation → Treating → Metering → Pipeline.
Scope of supply
- The resulting rich TEG is then choked and depressurized before entering the regeneration system, where it undergoes flashing, heating, and evaporation, converting the rich TEG back into lean TEG.
- By continuously circulating between lean and rich TEG phases, the system effectively removes saturated water from the natural gas stream.
Capacity, design conditions and scope of supply are confirmed per project.
